Inspiration
What are the crochet items that get the most use in your household?
For me it is absolutely coasters, cozies, beanies and infinity scarves.
My cozies are seen in the wild many days!!!
Every time I get a takeaway coffee with my ceramic keep cup I use a crochet cozy to protect my hands.
Cozies are both pretty and functional.
I hope you find yours as useful as I have found mine.
Makers will tell you that you should only make cozies in cotton yarn.
I have personally made cozies in all kinds of fibres and have found easy wash wool and low or anti pill acrylics to be wonderful too.
All of these fibres wash up perfectly well for me and are still going strong after countless uses.
So my advice is find the yarn that works best for you personally!
And just in case you are making this as a sweet gift, did you know there is a matching blanket that you can also make in your Light Worsted/DK or Worsted yarn of choice?!
Check out the Bloom As You Go Blanket pattern.

Pattern Instructions
Notes:
- A stitch count follows each round instructions in ( ).
- Ch 1/Ch 2 to commence the round do not count as a stitch for stitch count purposes.
- Work all stitches in ( ) in same stitch from the previous round.
- For a shorter cozy, or if using a thick Worsted yarn, HDC stitches can be worked instead of DC stitches for all stitches except the Flwr stitches. If using HDC stitches, commence each round with Ch 1 instead of Ch 2.
- Work only one of the Flwr options in Round 3 (Small/Medium/Large with either 5 or 6 Petals).
- Finishing Edging (top/bottom) is optional.
- Refer to Appendix A for example projects.
- Refer to Appendix B for images of Petal locations.
Foundation Round

(n Ch)
Rnd 1
Notes:
- Working in the ‘back bump’ of the Ch sts will provide the best finish. However, if this proves difficult any two of the Ch st loops can be used instead.
- Refer to Appendix B, Image 2 for ‘back bump’ location.
Ch 2, DC in back bump of first and each subsequent Ch around, Sl St into first DC.

Rnd 3
Notes:
- One Flwr will be made in this round, in the middle of the round. Follow the instructions for one of the Flwr options (Small/Medium/Large with 5 or 6 Petals).
- The Flwr will be made over a DC – Puff – DC stitch sequence made in this round. These are not included in the st count since these are used in this round and not available for the next round. The first DC in the 2 DC – Puff – DC sequence will be left unworked so that the stitch count is maintained in the next round.
Ch 2, DC in first and each st to the middle st in the rnd, (2 DC, Puff, DC) in middle st, Flwr over last three sts made (DC – Puff – DC st sequence), DC in each rem st around, Sl St into first DC.
(n DC, 1 Flwr)
