Pattern Instructions

Note:

  • All rounds up to and including the Complete Spiral Sequence are worked as a continuous spiral.
  • Stitch markers can optionally be used to mark the start of each continuous spiral round.
  • Stitch increases in spiral rounds are always made in the second stitch of the stitch increase from the previous round.
  • Beg Ch 1, beg Sl St, and fin Sl St do not count as a stitch, except where indicated.
  • Rep st sequence in [ ] the number of times specified by the pattern instructions.
  • A st count follows each round instructions in ( ).
  • The third loop (to work 3LO stitches) is located at the back/reverse side of the st, behind, and approximately parallel with the back loop of the stitch. This is most easily located by slightly folding forwards/curling over the edge of the circle so that the reverse of the circle can be seen (as well as the front and back loops of the st).
  • If joining a new colour for the border, fasten off first colour after Round 5. Ignore the border round instruction to Sl St into next st and instead directly join new colour into the stitch directly following the stitch used for the Spiral Completion St Sequence Sl St.
  • An image for the completion of the spiral is provided in Appendix B.

Beg Circle: Leaving a beg yarn tail of sufficient length to sew in, make a circle with either MC, or Ch 4 and Sl St into first ch.
