Tips

  • Motifs can be used to make ornaments/decorations, bunting, and decorative throws and bed runners (by using join as you go motif join through the Ch Sp tip of the star point). If joining through the Ch Sp tip, it is recommended that either Ch 2 or Ch 3 is substituted in Round 3 for the pattern instructions Ch 1.
  • Two motifs can be stitched together (wrong side facing) to make a double-sided ornament/decoration. This can either be done with darning needle and yarn or using your preferred JAYG method.
  • For best finish wet block stars. Starch or watered down glue can optionally be applied to stars that will be used as hanging ornaments/decorations.
  • If denser stars are preferred all Puff stitches can be made with an additional yoh, and all PC stitches can be made with 5 DC instead of 4 DC.

Pattern Instructions

Note:

  • Beg Ch 1, beg Sl St and fin Sl St do not count as a st for st count purposes.
  • Beg PC counts as a PC for st count purposes.
  • ( ) represents a st sequence that is worked in a single st from the previous round.
  • { } represents a st sequence that is to be repeated the number of times specified by the pattern instructions. This is provided in format /. To make stars with a greater point number, additional repeat(s) will need to be made.
  • Stitch count is provided in brackets () following each round instructions in the format /.
